They make the absolute BEST Chicago Style Italian Beef this side of Chicago! Absolutely fabulous! Get down there and have one...heck, have TWO.

Great deli every time

I have been to a LOT of Italian delis and this is by far my favorite!!! I’m talking mouth watering at the smell and lick the paper when the sandwich is gone and wish you still had more, kind of good!!! My husband has been going there since they opened and just decided to share with me a couple years ago. I’m still mad at him for holding out LOL!! 😁

Really tasty sandwiches here. I can only vouch for what I've tried, which is:In house TurkeyIn house chickenAnd my all time favorite Spicy Salami on sliced sourdough, so delicious.Gets pretty busy during lunch hours 1130-130.They actually recommend you call in your order cause the wait to make the sanwich can be 15+ minutes after you order.Customer service is a hit or miss, if you get the nice lady who usually works the cashier/phone then you'll have a wonderful/nice experience. If you get one the younger fellas, I think they're the sons of the owners, well you'll feel slightly rushed/unwelcomed.Overall, one of, if not the best sandwich places that serve quality meats.Oh and bring cash, no credit, debit has a fee, I forgot how much, $.25 to $.75?

They didn't have ANY Italian meats. Didn't live up to there name. I even called the day before and ASKED what Italian meats do you carry, I named a few common ones " oh yes we have that" the girl told me on the phone. Once again misguided by an employee that doesn't know their job. It's sad America, no one is held accountable... On ANYTHING. The do as little as possible, BUT they want top dollar. Sorry for rant.GO TO Santoro's .. it's there it's the real deal.

Best sandwiches in Alameda. Hands down. Lots of meat options you don't find at many other sandwich shops. I personally enjoy the fact they offer prosciutto.

This place is hands down one of the best places to grab a sandwich. And I found out they now sell cannolis! I've been looking for a good cannoli too. The lady at the counter said they were out but could make me one. Love this place!

Very rude clerk made insulting remarks as he walked away instead of speaking to me like a mature adult. I called him on it and told him I will never patronize the deli again.

Nice family place. Very much a small town feel...everyone knows everyone. Great quality food. Call ahead for homemade meatballs or ravioli!

Tasty mom and pop sandwich shop. They do not skimp on the meat, and are happy to customize and take phone orders! I always try to stop by here when I'm passing through (usually to Corica Park). Keep in mind the sandwiches to take 5-10 minutes to make (it's not a Subway, after all!), so if you're in a hurry, call in your order.

We ordered a liverwurst on sliced wheat with everything and a pastrami sandwich. Known as the best deli in Alameda, this place remains a local institution. Nothing fancy. Attentive staff and sandwiches made the old school way. Don't even think about asking for kale.

This place is Golden! Such a sweet spot for old school sandwich lovers...if you want it, here it is, come and get it. On my personal list of the best sandwich shops remaining in the Bay Area.

Wow they have a lamb sandwich that blew me away. I'm going to take a trip back here. I'm coming from Sacramento and it was word of mouth to try dominico's. like I said I tried them and it blew me away

Best sandwiches in town!

Well I went in, immediately told the worker that I was new here and didn’t know how it all worked. He refused to acknowledge what I said anything and basically ignored my statement. After ordering something completely random and paying over $10 for just a sandwich, I sat down and waited about 10-15 and they had 4 workers right there. I was the only person with an order. The owner just so happened to be there and I explained to the owner that I was a little put off by the disrespect when my order wAs being taken. He made me point out who was working with me (in front of everyone) and then continued to argue with the worker who simply just laughed and put it off. I was offered nothing for my patience, not a drink, not even any condiments to go with my sandwich. The owner just kept telling me his food was great. The food didn’t suck, but the atmosphere of that place can ruin any pleasant type of experience.

Great sandwiches, fast service, lots of choices of side dishes and beverages

I know everyone says this about everything, but this really is WOW service. It's like a small town sandwich shop that expects to see you at a PTA meeting. Sandwich is good, 5 stars even. But the service would be higher.

Love Domenico's! Sandwiches are great, such a fun family-run place. I love getting sandwiches from here and walking to Crown Beach to sit on a bench and eat them on my days off. Delicious and filling.

One is the best spots in Alameda for sandwiches. The veggie on rye is the best.

Decided to give this place a try after checking out the reviews. It's an old fashioned place, and there's plenty of staff. I took it to go, and started eating it in the car, it was so tasty. I will be coming back for sure!

I highly recommend this place for Italian Sandwiches! Always friendly, fresh, and delicious. So far I've ordered the lamb, chicken and meatball sandwiches. All are well made with the soft French roll. To die for guys! I'm really very picky and I love the service and the food.

I lived in the area for 2 years and enjoyed every single trip to Domenico's Deli. The best neighborhood deli a man could ask for and it's something I'll be chasing for the rest of my life. An Alameda Foundation. I'm currently visiting the East Bay after one year away and Domenico's was my first stop in town. Italian beef Chicago style on Dutch with smoked cheddar. Get it before they run out
